10 Years dA Collage

Today my account on dA turned 10 years old and I decided to create a little collage of various images I put up here.

Actually, it took two years after creating the account in 2003 to actually upload some content. And still many years of mostly not uploading anything would follow. Only recently, fueled by the amazing catalyst effect of the my little pony fandom, I actually started creating images more frequently.

The collage follows a rough timeline. At the top are my newer images and at the bottom right one of my first images found a spot.

When joining dA I was mostly interested in 3D rendering and algorithmic stuff. So after rendering I tried to play with algorithmic picture generation but I grew tired of using other peoples work as base material.
As you can see, my first tries at pony drawing are rather... interesting
So after some mashup-images involving meme-heads on ponies I got very interested in creating vector traces. This is something I am really looking forward to do more in the future even though some people claim that this has nothing to do with art - I disagree here.

My Pinkie Pie clock was a short visit in crafting-land and it is still hanging in my living room to put a smile on my face at breakfast. I actually got this signed by some VAs and de Lancie at the summer bronycon 2012 so it contains extra happy memories.

Recently I also found a lot of motivation to get back to drawing more on my tablet. This is really relaxing but sometimes frustrating. Painting and drawing is hard work - and it does not help if you also have other things to do in life... but hey - I can choose to draw in my free time - that is a luxury

I am looking forward to the next 10 years on deviantArt. Joining this website was one of the best decisions I ever made looking at the past.
